Mexicans won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at this year's Culinary World Cup in Luxemburg.
The international event, organized by Valel Club Luxemburg, honors the excellence and innovation of almost a thousand chefs and dozens of teams from around the world. This year's competition featured chefs from Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Croatia, Spain, Lithuania, and, of course, Mexico.
The team from Instituto Culinario de México, who call themselves the Mexico Culinary Team, had been eagerly anticipating the competition, training hard to live up to last year's medals – and they didn't disappoint.
Carlos Lecona of Puebla, a true craftsman and artist when it comes to carving produce, won the gold for live vegetable carving.
The team also won Gold and Silver individual medals in Fruit and Vegetable Carving; scroll through the post below to see their amazing creations! (Mexicanos know how to grow them, pick them, and CARVE them.)
